Post getting nervous

My surgery is next Wed the 8th and I'm really starting to get nervous for some reason. Dr. Clark said Lap band is much like gall bladder removal which I've already had, but surgery is surgery... boo hoo.

So much is happening b/n now and then just for the surgery. I have to prepare for it plus still line up babysitters, meals for them (I'm easy, just clear liquids for 2 wks); etc etc etc.

What to do? What to do? RELAX is what I'm supposed to do. Do I sound relaxed?????????????????

HI Jenny

It's understandable that your nervous. There are likely so many questions that you dont feel have yet been answered. I apreicate that your feelings are unique in the way that you are the only person that is currently feeling your feelings, however I would sugest that most people that have been through the surgery felt the same way, I certainly did.

I wouldnt change my decision regardless of my fear of needles, you'll soon be on the losers bench, I shall keep a space next to me warm for you

I think everyone is anxious as their surgery approaches. What helped me was just keeping as busy as possible. It will be here before you know it, and it will go fine, and we'll be waiting for you on the loser's bench.

Hi Jennylynn,
I just went thru this 7 days ago.. I was scared before surgery I hate needles i hate hospitals... here is how mine went (I had rny by the way) I woke up at 4:30 and was at the hospital at 5:30 I met the nurses and changed into my scrubs got my IV (which scared the hell out of me ) but wasnt bad at all.. then had a blood thinner shot.. and checked my blood sugar.. then off to the staging area where I met my anesthesiologist who was hot which made me more nervous! but he was great. They wheeled me in to the or and I got on the table and dont remember a thing about it after that..untill I woke up...it really was not a bad experiance.. I have had some complications with abdominal swelling pulling on my stiches which is not too comfortable but ITS WORTH IT. I have had my ups and downs in the last 7 days and everyone on here is great so if you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen we are always here! Your surgery is definately less envasive than mine you will be fine!
