I'm sorry :-( What a bummer!
When I first started looking into wls I told my 3 best friends - my husband of course, and 2 girlfriends. That was over 6 months ago. I've since told my sister that I was looking into it and one other friend who is excited for me and offered to watch our children surgery day, recovery, etc. I don't want to tell anyone else b/c I want this for me .
I'm excited for the positive changes (awaiting ins. approval - on pins & needles) that will come with this tool but I also think I'm a bit scared of how others would react. We have wonderful friends, but for some reason I don't want anyone else to know. I guess I feel it isn't their business. I don't know, perhaps to avoid what you're going through.
You have to have a strong support system just trying to lose weight the old fashioned way; and even stronger through wls. Sounds like there are some TT members near you and there are such wonderful people on this forum, always willing to 'talk', lend support and offer advice and knowledge. I wish you the best and look forward to hearing about the great things happening with you
