ragazzarosa-you hit it on the head-I know I am "the one WLS did not work for".
misty/kel- I'm not drinking enough but my drinks are "legal"-no juices or caffeine or carbonation-mostly crystal light.
I'm gonna keep working at it but it is discouraging to read others huge weight losses while I'm crawling along. and ms ready, I am not exercising enough but I am also not taking in a lot of calories so it is perplexing. I'm afraid to eat more but maybe my body that thinks it is starving needs me to (and exercise more, I know)

Don't compare yourself to others (OMG.. I need that right now so much! lol) It is sooo hard to do that. If you're really struggling with that one, go to your preferences page and make sure you have signature files turned off so you won't see them to compare yourself to! (There really is only one person's signature file that really bugs the crap out of me, so I left it in but I'm getting to the point where I might have to do that just cuz it really messes with my head right now)
And if you read that thread I posted you might feel slightly better? I dunno.

RNY, Lap Band, and Sleeve, we peeps all lose at different speeds... The heavier you are the quicker the loss.. the lighter the slower... and then men.. pish, they a whole 'nutter animal. Keep your chin up, I'm sure you're doing just fine for being a sleeve patient. : )

I was (and still am) a slow/low loser....
It was terribly discouraging for me the first few months after my surgery to see others losing 20 to 30 pounds a month and I was lucky if I lost 15... My 3rd month I didn't lose ANYTHING!!!!! I didn't cheat or eat carbs, etc....
I also had a LOT to lose, so it wasn't like I was one of the lightweights....
It's not fair and it's not right but sometimes that's just how it is... your body and metabolism is going to lose at the amount IT seems to decide it's going to lose at.
You WILL lose weight...stay on track, don't get discouraged and start to 'punish' yourself by snacking and eating carbs, etc...
Up your protein... get in your fluids.... get moving, any kind of exercise...
3 months after my surgery I seriously thought the surgery was a failure and I'd made a mistake.... Now my only regret about having the surgery is that I didn't have it two years earlier.

Instead of comparing yourself to other's progress, which is so easy to fall into, ask yourself this question every time you think you're regretting the surgery:
"I have lost this much. Could I have even lost this much in this period of time if I didn't have the surgery? HELL NO!"

thanks, kimber, I know you are right-I just wish I was one of the fast losers-makes me afraid I'm one that WLS fails... and I am not naturally a patient person. Truth be told, I didnt even consider the surgery until Jan/Feb of this year, went to info seminar in Feb and had surgery in April. Impulsive....?!

Thank you, Michelle. It is so helpful to hear of others who were slow out of the gate but who nonetheless made progress. It is SOOOO helpful; I'm discouraged because I am hungry -not head hungry but real hungry-but I am trying to really limit intake because I'm not losing. I actually need to be taking in more and I know it but I am in this head game where I just can't accept I need to eat more to lose more. I know it, I just am working on believeing it. I am grateful to hear you were slow but are getting there. Thanks again and congrats to you.
