Default Crazy shrink

So I saw a counselor today after fussing with everyone over body image issues and also general anxiety and...... well wow. We didn't get off to a good start. First she asked me all kinds of insane questions that I figured she MUST have her reasons for, but when she tried to hypnotize me and told me to visualize hugging a big tree and go to my speacial place I almost walked out. Is this normal for counseling or should I split?

Question Tree Hugger = Body Image?

If she was trying to help you find a positive body image by imagining hugging a tree, maybe she thought you should feel like a koala bear.

I would run, not walk, to another therapist. Just my two cents...

You sound like you have found the looniest shrink yet!!!! I agree with Dara (miss you sweetie), run, don't walk, to a more WLS friendly or informed shrink. Good luck to you!

Definately find another one! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is too funny. When you call, ask if they have someone who is experienced with bariatric patients. That is what I did and found a great one.

Hugging a tree? Hummmm, what could that mean? If your arms fit around the tree your belly is not big enough??? If they don't fit than you picked a tree too big for your arms and so you must have issues with your 3rd grade teacher??

I don't know about that wacky stuff!!!

jog, run, sprint,............go!!!!!
