Default 6 weeks post op

I don't have a scale in my house, I do not want to become obsessed with my weight because I just want to be healthy. I do have a small of goal of wanting to lost 80 lbs, although I should probably lose more, but thats where I want to be. I was happy with my weight loss when I got my staples out, it was 10 lbs, then at my 1 month office visit I had only loss about ten more so that makes a grand total of 20lbs in the first month.

I found myself not being satisfied with only 20 lbs, I read about tons of people on here who lose 30 plus lbs in the first month and I loss just 20. I guess I'm wanting to know if I am on track? I feel like I can eat more then I ever imagined I would be able to and I'm only 6 weeks out and that kinda worries me but then again I weigh my food and if never put 8 oz (usually about 6) on my plate and rarely eat it all.

I also exercise at least 3-4 days a week which consists of walking/jogging 2 miles and doing an ab workout I learned in high school athletics. Sometimes, if I feel up to it, I will do another mile after my ab work out.

I guess I'm just wanting to know if all this sounds right...Am I doing it all right? I hate feeling like I may not be doing something right but then again I have been satisfied with how I feel so maybe thats all that counts....I dont know, maybe I just some encouragement.

I think your doing good, just keep working your plan and as long as your losing, your winning right? If your plan stagnates or worse reverses, change your plan! Just keep fighting.

Two months since my surgery and add two week pre-op and I have lost 48 lbs. -- my dr. says I am losing more than "average" patients. This month I have lost 13 lbs. and 13 inches so I am happy. I decided before my surgery not to worry about stalls or what anyone else loses. I could not lose weight before my surgery so I am not going to complain now that I am. It is a total different way of life for me. I don't worry about the small things any more. If I lose 1 lb a week or if I lose 5 I am still losing. You sound like you are doing great--so just keep up with what you are doing!

Smile I'm only a week out or less

I'm almost back to preop weight. I think that each one of us is different and it may take you longer but if you keep going you will win the race. One study I read the slower the loss the better chance of actually keeping the weight off. That was not related to WLS but it makes sence. You are making life altering changes. If they were easy none of us would have gone this route. Slow down and enjoy the slow road down. It's a different picture than you have probably ever seen.

I lost 21 my first month, 12 my second, and slowly, but surely, I've gotten most of it off. I am over two years out, but only 8 pounds from goal. From size 32 to size 4, so you can't ever stop working when you're a "hard loser" but it will happen eventually. You just can't give up.

I'm attaching a before photo and my avatar (I don't have any recent after photos) so that give you an idea.

Keep working - protein, liquid, etc. You'll get there.
