Default Houses, Hubby etc...

Several of you have asked how the house selling/moving thing is going... so here is my update!

EEEEEK!

We're moving!!! The new house should be done 2 weeks from today - The builder is SURE it will be done... I can't believe it myself. They started dry wall yesterday - about 1/3 done with that... So - lots of DETAILS to do - mudding, painting, flooring, woodwork, cabinets, doors....

The OLD HOUSE is not selling. In the past 45 days, ONE house in our price range has sold in town... We've lowered our price twice, and have stuck a ton of $$$ into the old place (new roof, new flooring)... There are carpets I'd like to replace - and a familyroom I'd like to update - and a driveway that "needs" attention... but where do you draw the line and just walk away?

We've met with the builder and banker a couple of times - trying to figure out how to make things work out for us until this place sells... and due to an AMAZING offer from the builder - it's really going to happen! He's really bent over backwards for us - and will absorb $$$ until the old place sells...

So now --- my mind is running full blast with all the packing and details of the move... Didn't get much sleep last night I'm SO EXCITED and WORRIED! Mostly excited...

.....

DH's Health:

No hositalizations lately - so that's a good thing!

We did meet with another foot specialist - actually the surgeon who did his surgery 3 years ago. Not good news there. He has a "Charcot Foot" - basically the bone in his ankle is dissolving, turning to mush... he has three options:
1) Live with the pain, wearing the specially made boot as much as possible
2) Go for an extreme surgery, that will put in in bed (absolutely NO weight bearing) for 8 months --- which is likely to never heal
3) Amputation
This is pretty much what all the other doctors have told us - so we were not surprised, but still disappointed. DH is going to muddle along as is - until he can't stand it anymore. : ( poor guy!

We found out this week he needs $6-8,000 worth of dental work. All the meds cause extremely dry mouth, damaging his teeth. They've been cracking and one actually fell out! He needs 8 crowns and some veneers... poor guy! (literally $$$)

.....

Other than that - I'm feeling great, the grandkids are AMAZING and keep us smiling - the cat is still freaked out, sensing the changes coming her way (she's "thinking" outside the box) - and you're all invited over to help me pack!

Sounds like there's a lot going on to make sure this all works out for you. Have you planted a St Joseph's statue in your yard?

So sorry to hear there isn't better news on the DH front. The poor man has been through enough and it doesn't seem to be getting any better for him. He's so lucky to have you though. We all are! Love you Toony!

Thumbs up St Joseph, the underground realtor...

I buried him with a full ceremony on June 3... I think he's been slacking off!

(can you say that about a saint?)

Toony.. I sure hope you find a buyer for your house soon!

As for your DH's decision.. I can't say I blame him for deciding to wait and see for now.. an unimaginable choice!

How you manage to stay so positive and upbeat through all this is a true testament to your character. You're amazing!
