Unhappy Vim is distraught...

The Pug puppy photograph on my signature "Pugsy" was killed four hours ago by a hit and run car.
I was with him when it happened. Pugsy pulled on his lead, tugged a bit more and broke loose, dashed straight into the road onto an oncoming car. He was killed virtually instantly within 2 feet from me. I scooped him up but knew he had seconds left and thankfully for him he was out within 40 seconds of being hit. His neck must have been broken. He did not even have the time to recognise me so I believe he did not suffer. The driver did not stop, nor did I even pay any attention to the car.

This Pug was a 25 year-wedding anniversary present to ourselves and a celebration of my surgery - he was born 5 days after my RNY. He was also a symbol of "life goes on" after my Mother's death in June last year.

Our darling Pugsy was only 8 months and 3 days old but through his personality gave us more in his short life than many a companion in a lifetime. My husband and I are distraught and I cannot tell you how our children (aged 19, 21 and 24) feel. Thankfully we still have our 5 year old chocolate Labrador and 3 year old Jack Russell and 12 year old cat.

Gwen and Sheree met him too!

Sorry guys - you feel like family and finding TT to turn to in moments of distress is a great comfort. I am very fortunate indeed to have an amazing virtual family.

Vim

Default Frightening...

I have no words for you. I only know how much I love my pug Hudson so I can't imagine the pain you are feeling.

If there is ANYTHING I can do for you, please let me know.

This is horrible and I am crying. I want to go home to my doggies RIGHT now. I hope you and your familiy will be okay.

I'm sorry if I'm not saying the right things....I can imagine dealing with such a tragedy.

Please take care of yourself....

-Trish

Oh Vim, I am so sorry for your loss. I nearly lost my cat a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully abdominal surgery saved his life.

I am glad your Pugsy didn't suffer for long.

Thank you so much Noonie, Megan, Trish (and your photo), Jim, Karen, Vicci, Karen inK and Sherry. Your words mean so much and all your good thoughts and prayers are very strengthening. Surprising how much it hurts and how good it feels to have support from friends.
You are a special bunch!
