Lisa, so glad to hear from you again. You have been missed around here. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through but also, my dear, I am SO PROUD of you! You need to do what is right for you. You tried to make this work but as you said a relationship has to go both ways and it sounds as if this one isn't. This isn't going to be an easy step but as you have already experienced many times it is those hard steps that make us so much stronger.

*tight hugs*

We are here for you, darlin'!

Default Been there too...

Hello Lisa...I'm new to the forum but your story touched me because I was the very same age when I left my husband of 28 years for lots of the same reasons...he was a gambler too (really really bad) and I just want you to know that my life changed sooooooo much in the eight years since the divorce. I met a wonderful man ...got to travel to places I never would have imagined and met someone who is supportive and has stood by me though lifes problems. I hope that you begin to start feeling better and better as time goes by! Take some time for YOU to heal and I will keep you in my prayers...

Default Hey woman

Good to see you back.

Ending a marriage is a weird feeling. You're lucky to be moving and changing everything else too - I wonder if it wouldnt be easier to do it that way. D and I have kids, so we're sort of stuck hanging out together to some extent.

Anyway - good luck and enjoy the new start. Being wanted after years of neglect is an amazing feeling but I agree, better to be alone than ignored and unappreciated. I've decided that this new life is very strange but kinda fun too, so as you emerge from this sort of insecure time, enjoy yourself!
We'll talk soon!

Welcome back, sweetie! So glad to see your post, and so sad to hear about the end of your marriage. You know all of the cliches about one door closing and another opening, so I'll spare you...just know that this will only be hard for a while. So glad to see you again!

Default Old and new friends...your words mean so much

Again, thank you to all of you who are extending a hand... every word helps.

I am taking a break from the yard sale we're having to sell our more portable stuff to take a breather here...

and I'm here to tell you that holding a yard sale, even without all the emotional overtones, is much like hitting yourself on the head with a hammer because it feels so good when you stop.

Oh, and Katie, I'm not completely sure on what I'll be doing in West Texas--probably going back to office management/communication and troubleshooting processes. I have a tentative job offer from the company my sister is working for already, and I'll be talking to them about it when I get there.

Default Lisa Girl.....

Good ot see you honey! Bless your heart....okay just kidding. I'll miss the galleyWench posts they were always a good read.

I know you and I went round last summer over the end of marriage stuff and honey I'm so glad you tried and so sad it didn't work for you but it does appear that the time has come. You seem so clear this time, no emotional drama... the calm acceptance of making a good and right decision for you.

we should chat again soon!

hugs and make sure I get your new contact info.....

Ahhh Lisa - my sister from another mister!! I am so glad you are back home with us on TT

You are a dynamic and wonderful woman with nothing but success ahead of you. You are wise and compassionate, and as we share in somewhat the same life journey right now, you also provide such hope.

I love you girl - glad you're home!
