Default finding a support group

hi, I'm Cindy and I've been lurking around here for about 2 months. It sure has been helpful reading all your comments. My questions is about trying to find a support group in my area. Dr. Callery is going to do my surgery, but I live about 5 hours north of San Diego. (Home of the Wacko Jackson Circus Trial) I have gone to all the pre-op meetings, met with Kelly a week and 1/2 ago, finished all the tests, etc. this last week and will send them down to Dr. Callery's office today. Then sit back and wait some more for the insurance to be approved and surgery scheduled.
I wish I had spoken to more of those at the Pre-Op support meeting on Thursday, the 7th, but I kinda sat back and just listened. I'm just needing some support right now.

I plan to schedule my post-op appts. around the meeting nites so I can attend when I'm down that way, but hope to find something also up in this area. How do I go about finding a support group up in my area? Any suggestions?

Cindy

Cindy,
Try the ObesityHelp website. You could probably find a local support group there. Good luck and best wishes for a safe, speedy journey.

Pam,
Thanks for the web site. Lots of helpful information but only support group I could find up here so far is for their patients only, but I'll keep looking.
