Default Said Goodbye to a dear old friend

Today I had to say good bye, along with my children, to a very dear old friend. Flower was one of our fur children and she was 21 years old. She had been a part of our lives since my oldest daughter was only 4 years old. She loved the story of Bambi at that time so she named our new little kitten Flower.

We came home from vacation Monday to find her not eating. I knew in my heart it was her time but I just wasn't quite ready to let her go. This morning my one daughter woke me up telling me she thought it was time. I knew she was right. I called the vet and made an appointment for this afternoon. We all took time to hold her and say good-bye. I guess Flower wanted to go at home in the arms of those who loved her...as my youngest held her she took her last breath....we never made it to that vet appointment.

We have owned a lot of fur children in our lives as a family but Flower was the Queen of the house and she will be so sorely missed.

Flower...you most certainly lived a long life filled with so much love.

Flower in her favorite spot...warming herself on top of the register.

Beth,
I am sorry about your fur friend, I am sure she was well loved and felt it. Wow 21 years is a great long life in that of our cat friends, I can imagine her enjoying the warmth of the heater, we have a little fur friend 11 months who does the same with the registers.
It is sad to say goodbye and courageous to make the decision you all made.
She is definately at peace in a beautiful space.

Beth I am so sorry for your loss. We too just recently lost one of our animals and I know how hard it is. Give those kids a big hug from me. Not sure if you ever read the rainbow bridge poem but it is very fitting for the death of our fur babies. A teacher gave a copy to my son when our pug passed.

Beth,

What a wonderful life she shared with all of your family...she knows how much a part of the family she will continue to be even now that she's gone from Earth.

Sorry for your terrible lose...cherish the fond memories!

Oh, Beth,
These have been long and hard hours since we PMd. A big warm hug to you and yours. Queen Flower was impressively long-lived - perhaps for a reason! Having read your other posts today, I see how important Flower has been watching the transformations.
Warmest thoughts and chin up for the time ahead,
Vim

Oh, Beth...I'm so sorry to hear about Flower. What a gift, though, that she was able to spend her last moments in your arms. What a comforting way to pass...

Hugs to you and your family...
