My love goes out to you and your family at this time. The loss of a furry loved one can be so difficult.... we love them so much.

Prayers for you and your family to find peace in this passing.

Fondly

Beth,
I'm so sorry for your loss.
My Casper is 13, and I cannot imagine rounding a corner without him 'herding round'.
Hugs to you and your family during this tough time.
xoxo

Beth Im sooo sorry about your fur child. I know how much it hurts. I also had a car for 19 years. They become such a big part of our family. My heart goes out to your family and you.

Unhappy I am sorry

I am so sorry for you and your family. These little fellows get into our hearts and they become part of our family. But their short lives are so short and we must say goodby all to often. Just keep in mind, you gave her love all of her life, which is more than all to many get.

Again thank you so much, everyone. Your words of support truly have touched me. It was my middle daughter's 23rd Birthday today. She and I were both so thankful that Flower didn't die on her Birthday. I've kept busy today but I would tear up every time I backed out of the driveway and saw the freshly dug dirt and the flowers laying where my daughter buried Flower. It's so cold, windy and rainy today...and even though I know its silly it upsets me thinking about Flower outside in the cold. She hated the cold and was always so scared if she wandered outside.....I just miss her.

Beth,

I haven't been a member of the board for that long but I really want to say that I'm sorry and you are in my prayers.

I have a toy poodle who is 13 years old now (Magic Littlebit Caldwell) and the whole family knows it getting near the end for her. All I can say is remember all the good times!

Crap, now I'm crying all over the keyboard now.

Oh Stellar, thank you for your words. It's been hard. I still catch myself looking over to the pillow she always laid on. She was a dear sweet cat who filled our lives with many wonderful memories. We will never be able to replace her but we did go and adopt a new little one today. Even though we still have a house full of furbabies it just felt like we were missing something.

I'm still missing Flower but our new baby is also a dear sweet joy. I'll have to post some pictures of her. She is 8 weeks old and is a dilute Calico with the most beautiful little face....her name is Willow. She's wandering the house right now showing the dogs whose boss. *L* Looks like she may be another little Calico queen.

Beth - we just have one furry family member here, and I worry about the day we lose her! She's turning 8 in a few days (better go bday shopping)! I'm glad to hear that Willow has joined your family... she won't replace your Flower, but she'll help your aching heart feel better as a new spot there grows for her!

Aw Beth... so sorry to hear about that. We had a dog and a cat growing up and I became very attached to both so I know what it is like to lose a furry family member. Sounds like you provided a great, long life for her, though.

Thanks Mike. Yes, you do get very attached to your fur children. She did have a great life of luxury....and to think she was born in a barn. It was a wonderful 21 years with her. I still stand in awe when I think how long she lived...but it felt like it was only yesterday when we went to that barn and I freaked when my then 2 year old picked her up by the neck!! I'm surprised the owners let her go home with us! But that 2 year old and Flower became best of friends and she was the one that wanted to lay Flower to rest under the tree....no longer 2 but 23. She dug and dug in the rain, wanting to place Flower to rest in a very special place.
