Default Sad times

My best friends Dad, who I've taken care of for the last 2.5 years as his nurse, died on Saturday very unexpectedly. I am shocked and totally unprepared. We were very close...he was like a father to me. He will be sorely missed.

I just wanted to check in with you all and remind myself in print that I need to find my solace other than in food. Nothing I eat is going to make this better. Sometimes I just need to remind myself that the idea that eating something will make it all better is the biggest fallacy...it's a lie my addiction tells me. Just wanted to put that out there.

Thanks for listening...

Dear Debbie,

Sad times indeed and quite a shock. There is never a right time for someone close to die. May you have strength for yourself and your best friend and we are here to support you.
Be vigilant and I wish you courage in dealing with your loss - drink water instead of turning to food!
All the best,
Vim

Default So Sorry

Deb, I'm so sorry for your loss. Please know that you have lots of love and support from many people here on TT, even though we are all far apart from each other. You can get through this hard time without turning to food. There's a saying in recovery that "there's no problem that [a drink, a drug, an eating binge, whatever your addiction is] can't make worse..."
