Default Something Happened to me

I wanted to share this in case anyone had any insight. This is not related to what the forum usually talks about.

I was diagnosed as epileptic when I was 21 from a motorcycle wreck. I had a few seizures, got them under control with medication. and went on with my life. I was seizure free for 23 years. Well, my doctor and I decided it might be a good time to come off the medicine after so long for a couple reasons. One is possible liver damage, the other is I was planning this WLS and it would be much easier to not be on meds. So we tapered off and I was off for 2 months with no problems.

I was sitting at my desk the other day and had the weird sensation that I might be getting ready to have a seizure, but I did not. I DID however notice that I was experiencing scertain involuntary, very slight movements. Like eyelid-twiching, back muscle spasm, tighness in neck, weak shakey jaw.

All of this sent me into a major anxiety attack. And I had never had one of those. Very scary. So I dealt with that for 2 days till I got some Atavan from a doctor which calmed me down considerable and I have an appt today with my Neuro. Please cross your fingers for me. I want this resolved and do not want it to interfere in my WLS plans either.

Thanks,

Mike

Default Yes, Mike,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a positive outcome. How scary that must have been for you! I've got everything crossed that this is resolved and that it does not interfere with your surgery.

Default Mike

My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am hoping for the best possible outcome for you. Anxiety attacks are no joke.. I used to get them all of the time. I've come close after WLS but haven't had a true one since. I am hoping that you have the same experience..

Arrow Mike

Please take care of yourself. I know you want your WLS, but I'm really glad you're also making sure that any other health issues are also addressed along with it. Neurological issues are nothing to take lightly.

I'm hoping that everything turns out fine for you and your surgery can proceed as planned. Good luck, friend!

Well wishes are being sent from Virginia! Please let us know as soon as you hear something. I ended up in the ER with an anxiety attack one night, which I thought I was having a heart attack. It was horrible!!! They prescribed Ativan to take at the onset of anymore attacks. Luckily I've only had to take 1 1/2 pills in the past year, but I keep them with me just in case.
