Are they talking of one or two testicles? My current BF had one removed many years ago and has FIVE kids. Worry when you need to. In the mean time, we are here for you.

I know it's difficult, but try to focus on those things you CAN do...not the things that COULD happen. Right now you can do some research and find out more information...that way when you meet with the Dr. and have further studies done, you will already be well informed. Plus, information tends to take away the fear of the unknown. Blessings!

I too am so sorry to hear about your dh. He's so young to have such problems. My dh has a friend that has battled with the same problem. There are other options available. Please, Please, Please get a 2nd and 3rd opinion as he may not have to have it removed. My dh's friend is about 70 years old now and has had 2 operations over the course of 20 years but never a removal. In some ways I think it would be better to remove it but it's a male thing... kind of like loosing a breast. My mom had Breast cancer and the doc wanted to remove it, she got a 3rd opinion and they just removed the lump now 15 years later she's still in remission with both her breasts in tact while my mother in-law had her breast removed and 5 years later they found the cancer in her bones, she died 5 years after that. I guess it all depends on the situation but it's always best to get a 3rd opinion.

You're family is in my prayers...

Its not his testicles its his prostate. There is a difference right? Its twice the size its suppose to be and His testerone levels are that of an 80 year old man. No one knows why. I have had two opionions and the last resort is a PSA test which tests for cancer. They both said the same thing its proably not cancer but if this pill or this scope or this doesn't work then we will have to test for cancer. Lets see he has been on testerone for a year nothing, he had a scope and thats were we found out his prostate was twice the size its suppose to be, and put on pills but if these pills don't work then we do the PSA test and hope and pray for the best. They both tell me that other things can cause an enlarged prostate as well and he is to young for cancer.

Duckie I have two preciouse baby girls and I am done. I got fixed after the second one because I had health issues while pregnant. So, its not even the fact that we may never have any more children because we know that can't happen. Like someone else said its a guy thing and I will at all cost do what we need to to keep his prostate in tact. He works so that I can stay home to raise our daughters. So, you can understand the worry becasue the finicial burden that will come if indeed has to under go treatment.

Dear god I hope so.

on the side note about his testosterone results. Very sorry to hear that. As men we need it for many reasons. One of which being health. Best of luck with what happens. regardless you guys are catching it young and thats a huge bonus.

Him being 27 im sure he runs in his family. Normally thats how these things go.

let me just say that my husband has had 2 lazer surgeries to remove his extra tissue on his enlarged prostate. They do NOT need to remove a prostate because of enlargement. PLEASE talk to that urologist again because my DH had the lazer surgery 2 x in 2 years and he is fine and very "active" if ya know what i mean. Do alittle research on WebMD on enlarged prostate and it should show you the procedures they do now. Meds ususally do not work on an enlarged prostate but the lazer surgery does

also if that urologist is saying removal than you really need to seek out a different one because there is NO need for removal. My DH's prostate is larger than any patient his doctor has seen. That lazer surgery removes all the extra "bulk tissue" and yes it is most likely his father, his fathers father etc.. had this. Thats what they told us

I have only seen one case of enlarged prostate and I was absolutley mortified! My patient was so enlarged it made him to appear as if he had no pienes!!!! he had to use a urinal and still at his best attempt to stay clean and not get urine all over himself he still always got wet and had to be changed, I felt so bad for him.
