Life on thinner times in 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good Morning to everyone,

I thought I would do my last post in 2007 with this thought.

I joined this forum after a friend told me about it in september after my band was fitted. She has become like a sister to me now I am so lucky to have found a new friend by joining this forum.

I think many times we sit at home and feel the after effects of our operations and the life changing choices we have to make now to be more active and loose weight and become healthy. But that is the start of the hard slog, and the journey we have to do, to become what we feel happy with in our own skins. The emotional effects from the band or the RNY must be as difficult to come to terms with but some how we have all decided enough is enough and are prepared to take this huge change in our lifes. Many reasons for us all made us take this action but for me it was poor health and a longer life with my sons.

For me it has been nothing like I had expected..... I thought I would have this band fitted and life would change over night.... but this is hard work and harder than any diet I have been on. we are always learning throughout this journey what we can eat and cant and the sickness and needles to adjust the band for me are horrific.

But on the positive side I have lost 56lbs in 4 months and am very happy with that for now. I am now half was through my weight loss and hope the rest will be off before August 2008. But I think you all have played a part in my recovery and for that I wanted to express my THANKS esp to the friends I have made from this forum.

The thinner times forum for me in the UK has been my life line to advice and support through out the whole 4 months.

I think it is so important to say these words THANKS to you all. I feel we have a long journey in 2008 to achieve the rest of our weight loss and cope with everyday matter life throws at us.

THANK YOU TO USA and UK for being my online friends in 2007....

Awww... Waterbottle, what a nice note to us all! I'm glad you are here and sharing this journey with all of us!

I have to ask === are you holding two small dogs or kitties in your avatar? I can't really tell with these old fuzzy eyes of mine! You're looking terrific in that photo...

Your friend in Wisconsin USA!

Katie
