Thumbs down Feeling a little low right now

Well, I went to the doc today. No more staples!! I'm down 22 lbs in two weeks. So, why do I feel kind of blue? I made tacos (one of my favorites) for the family. I just feel knid of overwhelmed all of the sudden because I can't eat any. It's kind of silly. I've been cooking for them everyday and it hasn't bothered me yet. I have a cream soup with a little mexican flair that I am going to try, but I know I'll be disappointed. I guess I'm just feeling a little sorry for myself. Just needed to vent a little!!!

22 pounds is GREAT!!! Feeling a bit "left out" and blue seems to be normal. I am lucky (depends on view) as I am alone, no family to cook for. My divorce was final the day before my surgery, my son is in the army and off at boot camp (still). So, I don't have to cook for anyone but me, so I don't cook! Soon enough you will be eating with the family again. You will have this super gorgeous bod that men will ogle, and more energy than you know what to do with. It WILL get better!

Don't worry...enjoy this "honeymoon" period. At about 6 months, we are able to eat more and it gets scarier. You will be able to eat tacos. I eat them without the shell. Hang in there, it only gets better.

Default LizardQueen,

You'll be able to eat tacos in the very near future. You're only two weeks out. Plus, your tastes will change. Try it again when you can and feel like it. If the carbs (shell) is not setting well, eat the good stuff from the shell, meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. BUT only when your surgeon tells you can eat these things.

I did try the mexican cream soup during that stage and I just loved it. A little spicy, but I like it that way. In the seven months since my surgery, I have missed or felt bummed about a food or meal that I could not eat only twice. I'll take those odds and how I am feeling now any day over any food or any meal.

It takes time to adjust to your new life just remember you are going through a lot right now so take it one day at a time. I remember the first 3 weeks was hard for me and I remember a couple of times saying what the heck did I do to myself but you know looking back now I wouldn't change a thing about this. I love my life and the person I'm becoming day by day even more. Remember we are all here to talk if you need.

Wishing you all the best.

I know how how ya feel sugar pea! I mourned my food losses as well. Just keep your head up knowing its only temporary! You will be able to have a taco again one day soon.

You guys are great! Thanks a lot! It's nice to know that I'm not alone and that other people have felt the same way. This is a great way for me to feel connected to others with the same issues. You guys are so welcoming! My support group is 2 hours away. when I go back to work I'll never get to go, so I really glad to have this outlet!! Thanks so much!!

Okay here we are all these months later and I look back at this post and just laugh! Well, I made tacos today and here I sit eating a taco salad. I thought I was never gonna be able to eat ever again. I actually cried that night-over freaking tacos! It is so weird how so much can change so quickly!
