Whew! At least now I know I'm not the only one who does this! I have had such a complex about my weight and feeling ugly that, even now, when I hear a cat-call or whistle, I immediately look around to see who they're whistling at. I NEVER, EVER think it's me--I always assume it has to be someone else! Isn't that ridiculous!? Why do I do that to myself!?!?!! Obviously, my head still hasn't caught up with my weight loss!

Dara,

Last Wednesday at the Hungry Stick I was ordering a Turkey Sandwich and this surfer dude tried picking me up. My husband was at the pool table and missed the interaction. I smiled and walked away. My husband smiled when I told him and gave me a big hug and a kiss. I told him a surfer hadn't tried to pick me up in over 20 years. This guy was at leat 10 yrs. younger than me too.

The first time a man hit on me after surgery I was dumbfounded. I saw him watching me and I thought he was going to ask me for some money, so I was practicing how to be nice without giving him any money. I have a large family and they are on my purse enough. Anyway, he asked me where I was going, and I stuttered around not knowing what to say, so I pointed out East and said that way. He said he was going that way, and would I like to join him. I jumped in my Van so fast and started rolling saying, nice chatting, cya.

My favorite was my sons principal. Very handsome. When he saw me one day he said wow Mrs. Potter, you look great! I didn't even know he knew my son let alone know who I was.

One of my sons calls me wheat thin. He told me yesterday that was my new name. My other son calls me mini mama.

Off to work now, take care, well wishes to all the new post ops, welcome to the other side!

Hugs,

Traci

I have a new nickname at work from some of the "guys". It is "Sexy Mama"! And yes, when I was called that I blushed! No, I didn't look around, there are only 3 women that work there and the other two weren't in at the time!

Hmmm... "you're half the woman you use to be" uh, not sure if that's a compliment.

"If I wasn't already married..."

Ditto Bridget's comments "when are you going to stop losing weight?"

Just about every guy I meet says something about taking me home with them

May favorite comes from my husband "Honey, just back that a** up"

Dara,

Your brothers comment so reminds me of my brother!!! I have 2 older brothers,Brian and Brenden. Brenden and I were very close, he passed away in '94... but your email made me laugh because when I was a kid I used to tell him I wanted to be Pat Benatar and being the smarty pants he was he'd always say to me that "rock stars aren't fat" - brothers are such a pain in the ass! But, it always makes me laugh when I think about it!

"Just when are you going to stop losing weight" like everyone said above is what everyone keeps telling me.

My husband is worried that I will turn anorexic, but I eat and he sees me eat. He is just worried.

I had a co-worker ask me if I knew what food is????? Duh, I eat 3 meals a day.
