Smile My Pouch...Fluffy

My surgery is 3-23.
I read a post on another WL site, from a guy who named his pouch. He thought of it as more than a tool. It became his friend. I think that he found a creative way to use his pouch in a real time, positive way.

Not long ago I was at an exercise class. A man walked up to me and said ... "You are FAT! Lose some weight!"

I felt really bad until a good friend, who already had her WLS, told me that I was not fat...just fluffy. I had a good laugh over that & it helped me feel better.

I am going to name my new pouch "Fluffy."
Fluffy will be a friend who I can thank when she reminds me that I am not following the "Rules of the Pouch." I already like Fluffy & I have not even had my surgery yet.

I love the idea of naming the pouch and just wanted to share it with the members of the forum.

I hope you told that guy at the gym off!! Man if he said that to me BOY would he get an ear full. I'm mad just thinking about someone walking up and saying that to someone. How FREAKING RUDE!!! What an A** does he know you, or where you've been. After your surgery walk up to him and say look at me now honey. You wish you could have me BUT you can't.

I never thought of my pouch as being my friend, but I think you're right. My pouch does talk to me...when I've eaten too much...when I've eaten the wrong thing. It has been a world of help to me. Cool idea.

As far as what that horrible man at the gym said to you...my brother gave me the best retort for rude people like that.

You can say, "Yeah, well I may be fat, but you're f**king ugly and I can LOSE WEIGHT!"

Hi, I just wanted to say I'm having surgery on the same date. Are you with Dr. Callery @ Pomerado? And I love the idea naming your pouch, it should be your friend. It's going to help me have a new start on life. And I can't wait!!!

I knew you were going to be a kindred spirit Lei, I love that idea. I never thought about naming mine, but I do talk to it, and yes it talks back, lol, great idea.

Last year I had to go into the bank, okay pre op, not driving through the drive thru. Anyway my back was hurting, burning, lol, I had the paper work for the handicap parking but never would get it because of my weight. So this elderly man was walking slow, and there was a great gap between him and the start of the poles that contain the line. So I walked briskly past him, and he just came unglued, he yelled at me in front of everyone that I just cut off a handicapped man. I was totally embarrassed, he was fat too, but anyway, I said well as a matter of fact sir I am handicapped as well, and he said yes I can see your big fat ass. I wanted to run and hide, but on my way out, I just walked by him while he and his wife were at a desk "buh bye skinny" is all I said.

Dara they make bumper stickers with that on it. I may be fat, but you're ugly and I can lose weight.

Hugs,

Traci

Everyone using this forum, is in the process of taking back their power from those ignorant fools who do not understand that, if we could be thin without having major surgery...we would.
POWER TO US ALL...WLS Brothers & Sisters.

If you name your pouch...please share it.

Irela:

Yep, that's him! I have only one...and with the one I have, I'm GLAD it's only one! He's something else. He's an irreverent, sarcastic smart ass, but a really FUNNY one! LOL

We went through a lot of torture as children and teenagers, and we only had each other. So we're very, very close. I tell him that he's my evil twin. He tells me that I'm a prude and a "goody two-shoes." Luckily, we love each other a lot. Otherwise, we'd probably kill each other!

I'm glad you enjoy my brother's humor. Not everyone appreciates it.
