Michelle,

I just came across this thread......and I feel so badly for you. I can truly say I know exactly how you feel. About 5 years ago I rescued a gorgeous dog with similar issues. I loved him, I took him to training, I gave him a kind and gentle environment with a loving human family and well behaved doggie sisters. He had a fenced in yard, a spot on the bed, and toys galore. All the love and care did not undo the damage already done before I adopted him. I too ended up needing to make that awful decision. But knowing you need to do it only slightly takes the edge off the hurt.....and oh the 10 day quarantine is just hard. Just know the pain will slowly heal and you tried your best. We're all here if you need us!

Thank you Marty! What truly sucks is that the dog was supposed to help me get out of my depressive funk I've been in. Oh well. Such is life I guess?

That does really suck. But just like people, we can't always help the way we'd like. If it gives you any hope.....I have rescued 4 others along the way and they have worked out great......and among them were Shepherds and a Rottie. It's just unfortunate, but I know your next experience will be better.....and kitties are nice too. Just remember it was your kind heart that gave him a chance.

Michelle, do you not have a classified paper you can look in for free kitties? They are all over the place here! You don't have to rescue one from a shelter if you can't afford it. Just get one someone is giving away to a good home. There are BEAUTIFUL babies out there to be had FREE! Just look around! I'm sure you will find the perfect little furball.

Hey! Stop that! Aren't you out of that depression funk already!!! I thought I saw you climb out a few weeks ago when Bachelors 1-3 came sniffing around!!!

"FREE" kittens are nice -- but you've got to SPAY/NEUTER!!!

It comes and goes. It's not that easy to just shake it. I'm working on it.

It comes and goes... I guess we all have emotional things that come and go... Look at my recent breakdown for example! Sigh... life is soooo complicated at times, isn't it!

Cat Thought:
Another idea Michelle... you can foster a cat or kittens... The rescue group should set you up with a crate, litter pan, food and care for all medical needs... you just give the animals a good loving home until their forever home can be found. In our rescue, it's not uncommon for the foster to end up adopting ... at least their first time out! Just a thought...
