Scared
I'm 2 months out and scared to death because NOTHING makes me sick! That is a really bad thing for me to know. I feel like my surgery is not as successful as other's because even though I have a small pouch I don't have the dumping to help with behavioral modification. I've been eating out alot lately and I'm changing that. I start back to school Monday and I'm scared I will fall back into my old habits. Last school year I ate out almost every night with one friend or the other. If no one could eat out I would usually order in or fix something quick and unhealthy. I also went by Dairy Queen after school ALOT and got nachos. I know about bringing healthy snacks to school..., but I know me and I have had very little strength in the past.
Is there anyone else out there that does not get sick this early out and is battling the head hunger and old habits? Sometimes I want something so bad I get this "I don't care, I've GOT to have this" hunger. I go to a support group, but am thinking of having some private sessions. I really like my therapist.

Erin,
I had the same feeling at first and then I had ribs at about the 7 week mark. OMG, I was so sick. But that was the first time anything had effected me.
Are you getting your water in? That helps a lot with hunger.
Also, remember the rules. Eat protein, then veggies, then fruit. By the time your done with all of that (making sure you eat slowly and chew well) you should feel satiated enough that you don't want the other "junk" foods.
BTW, I eat out at least once everyday and often twice. You can make good choices almost everywhere. Also, I always keep a packet of almonds in my purse and If I need to excuse myself to get a protein fix, then I do.
Good luck!

Time to change your life
First off, things change. Stuff I could tolerate before, no more, so don't count your chickens. Even so, you still have a tool. Use it! Plan your meals, your amounts and don't eat other than those times. If you have this small pouch, you don't want to fill it with junk. You'll start to feel like poop.
You had this surgery to change your life, so change it! Try keeping a bunch of lean cuisine or whatever in the house. Invite a friend over for dinner - talk to your friends about eating healthy and maybe you all can cook for eachother. Take a cooking class (like, for diabetics or something). Buy a cook book and go nuts! There is a whole host of stuff to do, all you have to do is find something that works for you. And keep trying new strategies.
Write down what you're going to eat before you eat it. Too busy? No time? Tough luck - you have to change to change. (I'm so sweet, aren't I) I don't really know how else to say it. Therapist is a good idea - but you have to make some decisions on your own. How will you do it? The question is not can you do it, but how will you do it? This tool will work for you if you put in the effort. You are the one in control. Can't change habits? Change your environement. Find a way to make it work. It is hard work, but you can do it.
Believe me, getting up at 5:00 a.m. everyday to work out isn't easy, I just do it. Refusing invites to lunch when I'm not feeling like I can make good choices is really no fun. Ordering the right food, despite what looks really tempting, when I do go out, is not easy. But I am so doing it. After 120 pounds, I'm not looking back. You have to respect your decision to have this surgery and find your inner power. Do whatever it takes!!
I'm 14 months out and I could gain all my weight back tomorrow. But I won't. Doesn't matter what you can eat, just matters what you do eat. You can do this.

You have to respect your decision to have this surgery and find your inner power. A quote from Gina above.
Powerful, powerful, powerful.
