This is a tough one...but things change after surgery. Your tastes change, your body changes so don't do too much on what your body does now. You will go through withdrawl from sugars, fats, starvation, but it gets much better day by day after surgery. I tired to cut out sugars on the South Beach Diet months before my surgery and I was SO SICK...I could not concentrate at all at work and after a few days felt like I was going nuts.
I was a big sugar addict before surgery with liquid sugars...cappuccion and pop. Had my last one the day before surgery and never looked back. I didn't have the craziness after surgery like I did before, but I did ride an emotional roller coaster. The surgery was the best thing I ever did.
SO pre-op, do what you can - make SMALL changes in your eating over time and no big worries....you body will be in such a different place after. I couldn't do crystal light for months out of surgery - plain water was fine and then I went through a phase where plain water was too hard on the pouch. The pouch has its own agenda.
I know they do surgery on our gut, but something else changes in there that makes things different with food after vs. before.
Does this make sense?
