Default not food but a new addiction anyone?

I was wondering if anyone who has had GB has left the addiction of food and now has new addictions?

I have found that I spend tons of money in the discount stores, and consignment shops... why?? maybe because it is so much easier to shop for myself now and I can't stop, it is like a compulsive shopper lol

Nicotine. Quit it for six years, started again, quit for surgery, started for a year, quit on the gum, quit the gum, stayed quit for 4 years and started smoking again a year ago. Now I'm "weaned" to the gum again.
Don't know if I'd blame the surgery, I was addicted before.
Maybe sex too? (according to my boyfriend, but I disagree. it's just better now.)

Default My name is Lisa, and I am addicted to TT

My addiction, fortunately, is Thinner Times. I'm on here easily a half dozen times a day, every day. The good part is, it's sugar-free, fat-free, and doesn't make me dump!

Does make me think, though...

I do still have a major food addiction.........but I also and kind of fond of shopping and warm beverages. I don't think they are as strong as the food one, so have not actually replaced it.

Addictions....Starbucks....but cracking down big time.

I am addicted to finding clothes because I can wear them now!! I love finding the cheap deals. I am so happy I don't have to pay $50 for a pair of jeans just so they will fit.

Hi Marty!!! Love you

I have found many people go through a stage some where between 9 months and 2 years where they begin searching for a way to fill a void that losing the weight did not fill.

Successful GBs patients hook up into support groups and firums such as this and discuss the feelings and there by pass the need to substitute one addisction for another.
Others who find that their troubles are not addressed in these arenas seek out proffesional counseling. This has proven to be of great benifit and helps most people.
Then there are those who can not find the answers to these complex emotions and redirect the feelings into a numbing resolution od addiction.

Not to worry because all can be solved one way or another!!
We are a great support here, and this is a start!!
