Question What are you great at?

I'm posting all over the place because I LOVE the new forum!

I thought I'd leave a few intriguing thoughts here in the Emotional Support Forum. We are all at different stages of the emotional battle of obesity and weight loss. One thing we probably all have in common is low self-esteem - years and even decades of being criticized and humiliated in public can do that to a person. Here's a quote and an activity that has helped me to start looking at myself in a different light. I hope they help you!

"You are where you are in your life because of what you believe is possible for you." Oprah Winfrey

Let's all start by listing 7 things that you are great at.

Me
- Making people feel comfortable
- Painting
- Listening
- Abstract thinking
- My job
- Loving my family and friends
- Remaining calm during crisis

I want to see some more posts on this!

Default 7 Things

I'm feelin' pretty down over the last couple of days, so the "emotional support" message board called out to me.

Anyway, I've been thinking about the "7 Things I'm Good At" and here's what I've come up with:

1) Poetry
2) Bargain Hunting
3) Making People Laugh
4) Empathy
5) Prose
6) Proofreading
7) Playing Games

Angry 7 Things....

Can you hear me now??

I think I found my way.... I hope so....

I'm not feeling very postive about myself today, better days are ahead though but, I feel I can find 7 things I can do well.

1. I'm a great Mom
2. A good wife, just ask John..
3. I was an excellent nurse
4. I make people feel comfortable in my home.
5. I'm the best friend I can possibly be.
6. I'm very protective of those I care about
7. I try to use the gift of patience that God gave me to it's full advantage!

I wish I knew how to remove that angry face up there, I certainly wasn't angry when I wrote this, but I hit the wrong button!

Thumbs up Great Job!

Thank you all so much for playing along with me on this one!

The exercise is actually supposed to be a daily one... Yikes! It was hard for me to do it on a daily basis without repeating the same seven things every day (much less one a week), but it is a good exercise to start gettting you to think about all of the good within you.

There's a second part that I'll post in another week or so - in the meantime, let's see if we can get some new posters, and some new lists from our current posters. Here's mine for today:

7 Things I Am Great At:
- Cooking
- Preparing my boss for my absence after surgery
- Helping my husband to cope with the trials and tribulations of multiple sclerosis
- Being a great sister
- Managing my finances
- Planning (and executing) vacations
- (This one's taken a long time to get right...) Taking care of myself
