Inspirational Moment for Today, 2-10-05~
Maybe we should develop a Crayola® bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas®. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.
~Robert Fulghum
All of my life I have LOVED Crayons, I dunno why, the feel, the idea that you can make things beautiful with them, even to this day when I'm walking through the toy section of any store, if I see a box of Crayons, I have to pick it up and smell it!!!! Wierd huh? At Christmas, and my birthday, I always add that to the list, " oh, you can get me a coloring book and box of Crayons! " Does anyone listen? They think I'm kidding! LOL
When I read this quote last night, it just put the biggest smile on my face, and the warmest, fuzziest feeling in my soul, I just HAD to share it with all my "snowflakes", my "links" this morning... I hope it does the same for you all today!
I send smiles your way and lots of hugs and love~

Sandi,
This filled my heart with happiness because as a child I did so many things with crayons. I made pictures of course, but I'm talking about candles, wax paper art, etc. anything you could do with a crayon, I did it. I also love that wax/crayon smell. I could never settle for a box of 8/16/24. I still, to this day, have a box of 64 that my kids can't touch. They have their own boxes!

OMG...this is too cute! My daughter (17 yrs old) still has a box of coloring books and crayons, not to mention that when we're not busy at school (I teach beauty school), we sometimes drag out the coloring books and crayons! I chalk it up to teaching them about color theory, but it's so relaxing and plain old fun!

I used to and still do if I am bored, make a bunch of squiggles that connect and color each one section individually, and thats what I always did for my kids when we were out unexpectedly with a long wait, my ASHD boys needed it badly. Thanks for sharing Sandi.
Hugs,
Traci

Crayons!!
It just tickles me to know that SO many of us still have a special place in our hearts for the things of our "youth"... I want to always have a young spirit
Does that mean I can wear red hats with purple??
