Sad
Hey everyone~
I've had a terrible week. My Mom lives with me and is very ill. She fell a week ago and ended up in the hospital. I found out on Saturday that she has pancreatic, breast and lung cancer. They are not sure which is the primary site but the pancreatic cancer has already metastasized to the outside of the abdomen. Just below her naval, is a skin lesion. I'm very sad as she is only 69. She's had dementia for several years. She cannot have any treatment (chemo) due to her diseased state. She also has terrible emphysema from smoking. We are looking to get her setup with hospice. I am under so much stress I have been forgetting to eat. I was just wondering if any of ya'll are inclined will you please keep me and my Mom in your prayers. Sometimes I feel the stress is making me lose my mind. My Dad had adenocarcinoma in 1987 and was diagnosed and dead in 5 months. Apparently they think she only has a few weeks left. Thanks for listening ya'll. I am so sad.

Oh Deb, so, so sorry
Oh my, that is so tough. No wonder you are stressed and sad. There is not a whole lot I can do, but I can, and will, pray for all of you.
Hospice will be a blessing for your mom and for you and all your family and friends. It will keep her as comfortable as possible and help all with this stage of her illness and life.

Oh Deb, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. You and her will be in my prayers. Hospice should be a real source of comfort for you during this time. They will make her as comfortable as possible and you will be given the time to spend these days just loving each other.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. It's so hard to lose a parent. My Dad passed away a couple years back..he had bladder cancer, and congestive heart failure. He was a heavy smoker too...it's what killed him. My Father-in-law was just diagnosed this week with lung cancer. It's terminal. No chemo or surgery will be possible..it's too far gone. So, we will just try to enjoy the time we have left and hope for the best.

So sorry to hear about your Mom. You'll be in thoughts and prayers....try and take care of yourself in spite of the rough times. Know you have many friends in your corner.
