Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and hugs. I meet with the hospice coordinators today. I just don't want her to suffer.

Peace,

Deb,
I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I know how difficult it is as I lost both parents before I turned 30. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you take some solice in the fact that we are all thinking of you.

Deb, you and yours are in my prayers. Please try to take care of yourself, too- you'll need your strength, my friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom- of course you'll both be in my prayers! Hospice is a blessing - it was for me when my younger brother died - he came to live with me after my parents died - lived with me for 14 years before we found out he had cancer. Hospice was a blessing to him and to me. He was the most wonderful person - I miss him terribly - he had Down's and was so sweet and so precious and loving - i'll always treasure him in my heart. I know you love you mom, too - you've been a caregiver to her for so long - and you'll always have her memory - having her with you is something you will never regret - even though it's terribly hard. If you ever need to talk or need anything....

I'm so sorry to hear this. I was my mothers caregiver for 17 years of her life. She had chronic progressive MS and the last years were very hard on her. We found out she had lung and liver cancer - unknown primary site on my 41st birthday. She was gone in three days. I know this time is really hard. Depend on hospice, ask them anything. They know about pain management and can make her so much more comfortable than even a hospital can. They are just great. They can be there after too. It's very hard to be the caregiver too - it's like losing a parent and a child. You and your whole family are in my prayers.

Default You poor thing

Everyone has said it, but hospice is so important. They'll really help you.

As for the eating dear, just do some extra Carnation Instant Breakfasts or protein shakes. The hospice folks will even remind you if you ask them too. They are angels on earth.

Meanwhile, much love and strength to you.
