Default Brain slow to catch up

Recently I realized that my brain seems to be a lot slower at accepting my new size than I thought. I was in forever 21 shopping and felt really uncomfortable when the clerk asked if she could help me. I kept waiting for her to ask me if I was shopping for my daughter or something. It is still really hard for me to go to a store and buy the size 3/4 pants and shirts. I know it is just the mental part of things but I figure there are others out there feeling the same way. It has been 20 yrs. since I could shop at Charlotte Russe or Petite Sophisticated. This is really weird for me.

Katy,

I bet that is weird, but a good weird. Me? I have ALWAYS been big. When I get down to that size I may need pointers on how to act in a tiny person's clothing store! LOL!

You know I'm there with you on that one. I've always been heavy and I don't ever remember being a size 14 in my life. I think when I was in like 7th or 8th grade I may have been but I wore the stretch pants back then because it wasn't easy to find big clothes for kids. I don't know how to act when I'm going in to stores looking for clothes. When I go over the the size 14 stuff I feel like everyone is looking at me like I'm out of place. I mean Christina had to make me try on a pair of 14's a month ago because I was so afraid they wouldn't fit and now they look great on me...lol I sure hope this is something that will go away with time. I just want to see myself the way I really look.

Default I know the feeling

Katy,

I know how you feel. When I bought those size 6 jeans.. I just KNEW the girl at the store was thinking "oh these must be for someone else" why can't we accept the fact that we are the size we are and get over ourselves? I have never been this small either.. I mean I wasn't really big in high school and such, but never this size either!

I have always shopped at "the fat mans store" or the huskey boys or big and tall section. When I was able to buy pants at Target it was like man $12 pants instead of $50. I will never go back into Casual Male.
