Red face Not getting enough protien

I am very concern with not getting in enough protien. I have tried 3 of the protien drinks and they just seem to go right through me. I went in to see Kelly a couple of weeks ago for nasea and she gave me pills to take 4 times a day and all I have done was sleep. Every time I get hugry I get sick just looking in my refrig. I cleaned it out. I can eat something and cant eat it again. Sometimes I just dont eat at all. What can I do? What else is there for me to eat? I want a grilled cheese sandwich but cant have the bread yet, right? I cant even stand the taste of water so I drink tea. I feel fine but I know I'm not getting in enough protien or food at this point. HELP

Carolyn darling you are doing fine. You will not get enough protien right now anyway. Just do the best you can. If you can do a scrambled egg with cheese than do that. If not try putting the shake in the blender with maybe a little peanut butter. That is funny that you are craving grilled cheese.. I did too. I tried one when I could have bread and I was miserable.. so I don't recommend it..

Anyway no you can't have bread for 3 months. You can however, have crackers and peanut butter right now I believe or cheese and crackers depending on how you handle dairy products. Try a small glass of milk if you can tollerate it. Shrimp you can have now if you like it or flaky fish.. those were lifesavers for me. Just call me if you need anything else..

Good luck to you..

Default Carolyn,

I battle every day to get enough protein. I've been trying to eat more fish and shrimp because it's higher in protein than anything else.

I had my blood work done when I was 4 months out and found out my iron and beta carotine was low. I've increased my iron supplement to every day instead of every other day, I'm hoping this helps with my iron levels. Are you taking your bugs bunny chewables twice a day?

The good part is my cholesterol is down to 157 from 235 and my blood pressure is concidered within normal ranges.

Thanks for responding soooo quickly. I am not taking the chewable vitamins or the tums w/calcium for a little while per Kelly. I take the Womens one a day essentials due to the neasea and all of the other meds I'm on.
What are some of the foods that can be eaten and/or cooked for flavor and texture at 4 weeks out. I have tried everything on the list. I was almost tempted to fry my fish in a little olive oil but I was afraid too. I need a variety.

Have you tried re-fried beans, or any other beans? There is a lot of protein in them and they usually set well with everyone.. even add some cheese if you want for variety. I also add hot sauce to about every thing so if you like it, use it with the acid blockers you should be fine. I season everything, I want every little bite to taste great. You may be able to eat some flaky fish at this point, a little bit of olive oil would be ok if you are coating the pan with it I think, but I would not deep fry anything if you know what I mean. I hope that made sense. I still can't do deep fried foods at 9 months out.

Also there are soft canned meats and those vienna weinies that people have eaten at this point. I would steer clear of chicken but I think I was eating some very good quality fall off the bone type of pot roast at this stage. Make sure the meat is very soft and kind of falls off the bone. You can do this too with ribs or anything that can get really really tender. Don't take my word for it though, that may be something you do at 6 weeks out, I don't have my binder with me for the actual protocol at your stage. I know some were eating beef at this point and some very tender porks though. I just can't remember sweetie, I am so sorry. I did a lot of mashed potatoes and gravy and refried beans at your stage. Good luck to you sweetie, and hope you get some good variety.

Default chili

Wendy's chili was one of my early favorites.

I don't remember that far back, but I was only about 4 to 5 weeks out because I was still at home and I lived off of egg salad, Ritz crackers, and bacon. I made the egg salad and used the bacon that doesn't come in the regular refrigerated section at the grocery store. I used the bacon that comes in a box...you can cook one strip or two in the microwave and refrigerate the rest and use it as needed. Once you open the box, I believe it is good for at least 15 days.

Well, that was just my 2 cents worth. I hope it helps a little bit, and know that as each day passes, it does get better. I have an iron stomach so you may not be as able to tolerate certain or as many things, but I couldn't do the protein shakes at all and began eating steak, chicken, and shrimp at about 5 to 6 weeks out. I needed to get my protein from somewhere.

Smile you guys...

Thank you for the compliments.. that picture was taken when I was still a size 12 at Stuarts Christmas Party..

Davey, I am not offended. ..and I know Stuart would take it as a compliment too knowing another man thinks I am a "hottie" so to speak..

All of the credit goes to Miss Karen for taking time out of her day to post the pictures for me.. if it weren't for her, I'd be lost.. so there.. Karen even though you are so far away.. I still need ya and love ya!!! You are still a valuable assett to us!!!!!!!!!

Love to all..
