Default Driving myself crazy

My 6 month post-op is next Wednesday and I am making myself crazy. I'm in onederland of course, but I know that the bariatric unit considers a GBP patient a success if they lose 2/3 of their excess weight. That would be like, 190 for me and it drives me crazy! There is no way I'd be satisfied with that, so I am afraid I can't get the guidance I need there...

AND I wish (shock of all shocks) that I had lost more since my 3 month appointment. At least my blood tests came back all perfect. My cholesterol is down to 152 - I'm so happy!!

I'm just SO stressed out about this appointment - I don't even know why really - I just want to be, like, amazing or something and I don't feel amazing. Does that make sense? And it isn't them - they'll be thrilled.

And what should I wear?

Time is just marching on, you know?

Sigh...Well, at least I'll be posting new photos next week - it'll be good to see the difference from my before photos. Maybe I'll take them to show to my surgeon too.

You are so cute. Great job on the cholesterol! Your weight is fine..they will be very happy with you! You are also in great shape. You eat right, exercise, you are the poster child for what a gastric bypass patient should be doing! They will love you! Wear something cute...and shoes that slip off easy for weigh in!

Gina, you are only 6 months post op. You still have a whole year before they say you stablize. You have come a long way,and have a long way to go still. You should be so very proud of your accomplishment so far. Keep your head high. We are all proud of you and so will your Doctors and family, so get on board girl, be proud of yourself.

Gina you have done so amazing. Don't dwell so much on what you have yet to do for just a while focus on how far you have come. Then you can kick it back into gear and finish that journey. You are such an inspiration to all of us newbies. I think that you are amazing.

Gina, you have done SO WELL... The feelings you are feeling are SO NORMAL. I question the success all the time and find new things to be concerned about...it can get obsessive with me. I work at it every day and tell myself that I am success. I look at my goal weight and question if 10 more pounds will be ok - being 5'9 and now wearing a size 14-16, is this normal? What is normal?

I have a christmas party to go to on Sat night...I have a dress that is a little hugging to my body. I don't want to wear it! I don't want to be noticed. I know that people are going to make an issue of the "new me" but I just want to blend in (it doesn't help that I am doing all the raffle and door prizes, thus being at the front of the room most of the night) and then I am receiving a 15year service award and diamond bracelet.

Why we do this to ourselves is beyond me - but I can tell you we are not alone !

You will do great at your appointment........no worries! You are amazing...it just might take some time to realize how far you have come. Time for a new avatar girl...let us see the new you!

Gina are you trying to please your surgeon? Don't stress your self out. As time goes on you will learn to appreciate ever pound you lose even if it's not the amount you were hoping for.

Know that you are not alone because I had some of the same feelings around 5 to 6 months post-op. Being a year and 5 months out you learn that this tool is yours forever to work with. So even if you don't lose the weight you wanted in 6 months you have the rest of your life to work that tool. Big hugs on making it to Onderland. I am proud of you.

Default Yikes!

Lisa - we're living parallel lives! I have a Christmas party to go to Saturday, though I won't be in front of everyone, it is my gym's party so there will be a lot of beautiful people there. And my dress is clingy too - it is a 16! God help me!!

I ordered a "Lipo in a Box" garment to wear under it, but it hasn't arrived - I'm in a panic! If it doesn't come, I won't go!

Thanks for your support - feeling better today anyway - but I'm just doomed to be nervous about this appointment.
