Ex hubby just spent 6 days in the hospital getting his electrolytes up, particulary his potassium. He went in with a potassium of 1.6, normal is 3.5-5.5. He was in kidney and heart failure and hasn't been able to walk in 2 weeks (nerve damage from lack of the vitamin Bs). Crazy enough, his liver is fine. Of course, alcohol has no nutrients, but having WLS makes taking your supplements even more important. Everything happens faster post WLS, good and bad things that you can do to your body. Though his case is more on the extreme side, it exemplifies wht can happen in a very short amount of time.
He's home and drinking again...such a waste......so much for an IQ of 160
