Default My business trip highlights!!

Well, I am back from my business trip and it was fun, scary, exciting and a little naughty all in one!!

I loved Boston, what an amazing town!!! I visited family and saw the sights.

Then for business I traveled from Boston into Connecticut. I rented a car and drove alone 4 hours to my corporate offices. It was an adventure on the road following directions and crossing country I had never seen before. The trees were gorgeous just starting to turn and the travels went so well, I even stopped to eat.

When I arrived, I had a social event to attend. I dressed up in a nice cocktail dress and arrived to many a compiments. Although last year I had already lost 80 pounds, since then, I have dropped another 50 pounds and I felt really great.

The entire trip was busy, but the one thing was how differant I felt about myself. I was so confident and felt comfortable speaking with CEO' s and others in high leveled positions.

The only problem, is that I feel that my confidence may put me in a compromising position with men.
While I am happily married, I found so much more attention directed my way and this scared me in a couple ways.
One was that at first I took the attention as a level of profesional acknowledgement, but then I also felt that just because I had lost weight, I was now perceived as more valuable. This irritated me and yet I can also admit that it was a great impowering feeling.

While I was tempted to return the attention, I also felt nervous of where that kind of behavior could lead me. I maintained a business attitude with only a few small inuendos but, wow, what a differant experience.

Also, the caliber of men. I was dealing with people at a very high corporate level, they seemed to take me more seriously profesionally and yet there was a definate level of man on the prowel feeling. It was very odd.

So this is what it is to be a thin woman in corporate America. Interesting.

Flying home was an experience which was pleasant as I fit so much more comfortably in the seats.

That concludes my latest journey!

Forgot to add a rude comment that was said.
While the topic of weight loss was being discussed someone mentioned my weight loss and then I was asked how much weight had I lost. I replied 130 pounds and then out of the blue comes this comment from this woman who knows how I lost the weight. she says "o.k., lets be real here...she had a bypass".
I could not believe how rude. Her tone and words were really nasty.
What crawled up her butt??

Anyway that was just a little negativity that came my way!

If only you could have beotch slapped her...LOL Oops that just slipped out of my nice mouth.

Those kind of people are just plain JEALOUS and so ignorant. Nasty is right and I am sure you made her feel insecure...so she felt it necessary to be rude.

I am glad you had a nice, safe trip. Isn't it amazing how men treat us differently? I saw that at work. After reaching my goal weight, I noticed salesmen spoke to me differently, not realizing they made a sales call the year prior and I am the SAME person. Amazing.

Hope to see you soon.

Grrrrrrrrr.....Rain you are a better person than me if you didn't put her in her place. I would have had to tell her........"yes I did, and you are having your surgery to down size your BIG MOUTH and insert some manners when?????"

((((HUGS))))) to Rain! Happy you are home!

You guys crack me up!

I thought she was threatened by me so I felt at ease knowing....well,...she should be!!! (Just Kiddin'!!)

I am feeling confidant enough these days to let that go, however, I was thinking of telling her some time, that when I told her I had gps, it was something that I don't share with everyone, there for making her feel special and that I had confided in her. Hoping she would understand I don't nessesarily advertise this.

I get along with everyone, but I just have no tolerance for mean and ignorant people. I cannot stand for someone to degrade or humiliate someone else that does not deserve it. I guess I am always fighting for the underdog. LOL What can I say? I'm a Leo, so I'm the "great protector". LOL

By the way, I think it is so funny that with all I wrote about the trip, that the fire under your butts is when the chick was rude to me!! I know you all have my back!!! I just gottta be careful with the man stuff. It sure is flattering, but geez, I am married and I so want to be a flirt!!
