Default Sink or swim, I'm jumping in!

I have decided to take a leap of faith and pursue a home purchase even though I don't have a FT job lined up. I have 2 per diem jobs and so far, I'm fully booked for next month.

I have learned along the way that I only have God and myself to depend on, not family, friends, or work. I was employed for 3 years at the place I'm working when I applied for the Supervisor job. Everyone thought it was a slam dunk for me getting it. I had pinned a lot of hopes on getting that particular job. When I didn't get it, I had to re-examine my goals.

I have discovered that the goals are obtainable...it's just a matter of how much I'm willing to work and sacrifice to achieve what I want out of life. Since I have no one to care for, I can work any shift...nights, evenings, weekends, the hours that pay a higher rate. This can also allow me to fit my work schedule around study time and tests.

It means the sacrifice of a normal social life.....I will have to become creative in meeting people......midnight movies, breakfast dates vs dinner....a different way of thinking and doing things.

We will see how this will affect my weight and ability to cope....many studies indicate that graveyard shifts pack on the pounds...

I totally agree with Dale. The most important relationships I have had in my life have happened when I least expected or wanted them! You know me, I am a firm believer in destiny and things having been decided when we were put on this earth. It's just up to us if we go with the flow or we fight it. Fighting is getting really old! Love you gals.

Marie, I look up to you for so many things. I know you can do anything you set your mind to. Your girlfriends (and guy friends for that matter) here will be there for you every step of the way.

Pam...I swear we think alike on a lot of things. I believe in destiny and I know that is why we were all set to have surgery when we did. Look at you and Stacie, and Jeanie and Kim and Gerry and me and Sandi. We were destined to meet and I am forgetting someone...

Point is...that you are destined to succeed Marie someone is waiting for you. You have had road blocks and bumps and stuff, but you made it through and you will continue to do well.

Marie, I am a night shift RN and I'm having no problems working the tool on this shift. I work 7P - 7A. I bring my food and stay away from all the JUNK the other people bring in. lol ( I may have an occasional twizzler!) If they order out I sometimes order potatoes skins. I can eat ONE in a sitting.

I love love love the night shift. It's the best. There are no doctors looking over your shoulder the whole time you are there. If I need them, I call them. Autonomy is a wonderful thing. GOOD LUCK HON!
