Default Welcome Marcy!

I went through the same thing you are going through. I had head hunger and depression the first few weeks because I thought I would never be able to eat again. As I am getting further out, I get the depression and ups and down feelings quite often. My hormones are running crazy and for many people this is quite normal. Just make sure you get the help you need and let us know here on the forum how you are feeling. There are so many wonderful, caring people here to help you through the rough times. Again, welcome to the forum! It only gets better!

Marcy,

I woke up thinking "What did I do?". Then when I found that I am now lactose intolerant and can't even handle cheese if I take lactaid first, well that really bummed me out too, but I have dealt with it and I am moving on. If it is a choice between cheese and being skinny, well, bye bye cheese!

When you get a chance get your signature done with your surgery date, starting weight, etc. So, Kelly should be calling you tomorrow and Thursday you go in. I lost 22 pounds in the week between the Thursday I came home from the hospital and the Thursday I had my post-op appointment and weighted! Then 5 more the next week. My next weigh-in will be Tuesday at the early support meeting. Can't wait! Good luck to you and welcome to the "Losing side"!

thanks to both of your responses... it's really nice to know there are people here who have a clue - and I think my friends and family are getting tired of hearing about it all....

Default Marcy,

I was hungry too the 2 weeks following my surgery. I just kept drinking/eating my liquids then eventually moved on to cream soups. The liquid just passes through so quickly. Don't worry your pretty little head about it, you are perfectly normal.

Smile Marcy

I'm sorry you are going through this. I remember the first few weeks out were horrible for me with depression. Then it started going away and I had no reason to be depressed.. (I think I was masking it even from myself) for several months.. then all of a sudden.. BOOM I started getting depressed again and in a bad way. The last support group meeting I melted and cried my eyes out. It was ok though, because nobody judged me or made me feel bad about what I was going through. They just wanted to hug and support me.. I love the people here.. they know what I am going through as we all know what you are going through right now. Just come here or call us.. we will be there for you.. don't you worry what you are going through is perfectly normal..

Wishing you nothing but happiness and success..

Question Marcy

Marcy,

I'm sorry I must have missed something. Where are you at? I'm sorry you aren't closer wherever you are from. Either way does your Dr. provide support groups and such?? If not you are always welcome to come to ours if it isn't too far.. or we can work together to find you something wonderful out your way..

Let us know.. we're here for ya!!!

Smile Geographically Challenged

Marcy,

Thanks for the compliment first of all. Secondly are you anywhere near Montana? My Sister lives not far from the Canadian border and could always use the support of others. Maybe I could hook you two up and you guys could get together for support??

Either way I hope that everything works out wonderfully for you.
