Default It is starting already

I had some worries/excitement about how who my friends are would change after surgery. I am suprised that after only 3 weeks, these changes are already starting.

Today I happened to meet up with a woman I've known for quite a while, but we've never been "friends" and we talked for quite a while. (I told her about the surgery before hand) She was going on about how I've changed, not just how I look, but my whole "aura". Well, to make a long story short, we are going to be getting together to walk a couple times a week. She says she needs someone to help her get out the door and then she's fine - not a self-motivator - though since I am she thinks we'll be a great team. But this woman is of "normal" weight. It just feels so odd - but good too. She also talked about getting together with her other friends because they do other things too like biking and roller skating on "disco night" at our local rink. Now some of this is too soon, but just to be invited into this "group" seems so shocking...Its like there is this whole world of active people my age that I never knew about.

And now I have to go buy a bike!?

lol.......I think it is great. Even if you don't become bosom buddies, it's nice to have casual friends that you DO something with. All my pre-surgery friends want to eat out. Even my buddy I went through the whole process with does it. I'm like, do you guys not get that it's just not such a big deal to me now and I'd rather do something else....ugh. Grab those new friends and add them in your life!

I don't have those friends anymore. I dumped them like I dumped the weight. I have no desire to go to restaurants, and eat etc. I do meet some for lunch and if I can't eat just enjoy the company.

I've just limited it a lot. I now only say yes if we are already out and about and it makes sense, or if it a special occasion, or people will be there I rarely see. I can eat just fine, but my food at home is fine and I know exactly what's in it. I resent wasting fat, calories, and health having my eggs cooked in oil, or my sandwich buttered! If I plan to splurge, I do it intentionally and make it something I truly enjoy. I luckily, do have one old food friend that is on board with me......and she is hoping to get the surgery. But it amazes me that the one who went through it with me is still more like old times....just eats a bit less at a sitting. Sometimes you just never know how it will all shake down.
