I have had better luck finding locals at obesityhelp.com. This forum is easier to use here though, and pretty close and helpful bunch. For my state board though I go to the obesityhelp and have found lots of people who had surgery at same hospital etc.

Well, see, I actually had surgery in SC... otherwise I would probably have contacts here for other WLS patients, or a support group, or something.. but nope. No luck such yet.

I am from Denver - and a little over 2 years out from surgery, my wife just had gastric bypass 3 weeks ago. I dont post much here - but usually try to read the new posts daily. I am not so sure about support groups in the Springs, but there is a big network of them in Denver - if you are interested check out www.denverbariatrics.com - that is the website for the surgeon that did my and my wife's surgery - there is a link to support groups there.

Umm..my mom lives in Durango, and I will be visiting there for a 4 day weekend in January and a 4 day weekend in February...anyone close the that area?

Sorry, that's over 5 hours from me... unless you really feel like driving! lol

Thanks for the link to the support groups in Denver.. you're a decent drive from me, so maybe eventually I'll be able to find something near here.

I live in Ks now but I'm from Colorado Springs. My mom is in the springs still. She just had surgery in Oct with Dr. Shoen. I had my RNY here in KC.
I just got home from Colo and want to be back there so bad it's scarey.
