Default Protein Powder and Aloe

I have numerous containers of protein powder that mixes fantastically with Soy Milk-chocolate and french vanilla. I have several bottles of Aloe that I used instead of the Prilosec and Carafate prescribed by my doctor.

They are Herbalife Formula 1. After my surgery I became seriously malnutritioned and my body didn't absorb anything. Since I can't drink regular milk even after 4 1/2 years I use soy milk and add fruit to the protein powder. I also add some Aloe since I have heartburn but use that for my meal breakfast and lunch then eat a meal in the evening. I still can't eat beef so I will continue to use the Formula 1 to make sure I get the protein I need. Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh. So you're not selling your stock, you're selling as a Herbalife rep?

I looked them up and it looks like they only have about five grams of protein per tablespoon. So you'd have to use an awful lot of it to get any significant amount of protein. I'll pass.

Sorry I didn't reply before Josephine. I am an independent distributor of Herbalife that just started in July of this year. It has been 4 1/2 years since my surgery and once I relearned how to eat and you very much have to relearn it. I haven't been able to eat beef, sugar or drink milk in that time. I kind of gave up on eating cause I was tired of throwing up I became severly malnutritioned to the point the doctors considered admitting me into the hospital and feeding me intravenously. I'm 5'11 and got down to 145 pounds which I looked like the walking dead. I met my current husband and together we found meals using pork, chicken and fish that I could handle and keep down. I gained some weight back and some extra that I didn't want so my husband purchased some protein powder from Herbalife and I drank the shakes with soy milk and found that I have lost the 23.5 pounds extra I gained. One of the other problems I had with the surgery is stomach problems. My stomach was hurting alot and so the doctors had me on Prilosec and Carafate and I was taking it three times a day. I don't know about you but I had the surgery with the intention of not having to take medicine again. I was taking 12 different medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, insomnia. I replaced the Prilosec and Carafate with Aloe from Herbalife and I don't have to take the medication anymore. I realize I'm probably rambling on but I was the skeptical person in the world before the gastric bypass. I can't tell you how many times people would tell me to try this diet plan or that diet plan or take these pills (meridia and redux) to lose weight. I got to the point that when someone suggested another plan or medication I told them where to go with their ideas. If the products didn't work for me I wouldn't recommend them at all. I up front tell people that I had gastric bypass and explain that I use the protein to maintain my weight and get the nutrition my body needs. Lets face it with the gastric bypass it is harder for our bodies to absorb the nutrition it needs unless it is in liquid form or easily digestible. I did what was suggested in drinking Ensure which made me throw up and taking vitamins and supplements from GNC. My body didn't absorb them as you see them when you go to the bathroom undissolved. I teach nutrition classes with the idea that people should eat like we who have had gastric bypass do. Small amounts and nutritious.

The protein doesn't just come from the powder, it is also from the milk and fruit you add to the shake. I understand your concern and appreciate your concern. Good luck.

I'm sure you mean well, and from my experience with Herbalife products in the past, I'm sure there are some things that would really benefit the community, but you're not allowed to advertise here like this. If you had purchased some from a distributor and didn't need them, so you were selling them, it'd be different, but using the forum to sell product as a distributor isn't allowed. If it was, we'd be swarmed with advertisements and not be able to support each other. I hope you understand.

Closing the thread since it's no longer necessary.
