Default HMR 500 shakes left over ...

HMR shakes are SOLD!!! I just don't know how to delete a post!

_____________________________________

I have 7 boxes of HMR 500 shakes left over that I'd love to sell for $25 a box.
(3 boxes of chocolate, 3 boxes of vanilla and 1 box of chicken soup).

Great way to get a jump start on bringing the weight down and shrinking the stomach while jumping through all the insurance hoops!

I stocked up for the summer to save on shipping ... thinking I'd go back on the shakes I used during my medically supervised diet last year. Figured I'd get a little head start and start loosing a little bit while waiting for everything to come through for my surgery. However, my insurance approved a lot faster than I had anticipated - and I'm now scheduled for a July 13 surgery. Unfortunately, I'm required to use a powder with more protein for the two-week pre-op diet and can't finish off the HMR stuff.

My loss is your gain!

Im not sure how much protein is in there or what kind of protein...but I would hold onto these a bit longer- as you are gonna need them after surgery if its the correct kind of protein that is....and there r days when you may not be able to get enough protein in with your food and may need a shake to get there.

good luck on your surgery

The packets are 100cal and are 10g protein and 17g carbs per serving. Not sure how to tell if it's good vs. bad protein?

All of the stuff from my dietician regarding the pre-op and post-op says a minimum of 15 g protein and less than 10 g carbs per serving. I may hang onto to a couple - but would love to get a few boxes out of the way.

Hi, Sweetie!
I actually like the HMR shakes, but I'm sorry to say that while $25 is totally reasonable, unfortunately it is too much for our rickety finances to take them off your hands. I hope you can find someone who needs them and can afford to pay you for what they're worth.

Stephanie,

If you have any HMR500 left after surgery, you need to be a little wary before using them.

Apart from the fact that I can't find out what sort of protein these contain other than dried milk, egg whites and soy, 10g a shot isn't going to be enough for you sweetheart. Making it with milk would bump the protein up by another 8g or so.

And on top of that, there's 14g of sugar per serving - that would have been difficult for me early out.

For others who may be interested in HMR500 shakes, this is the stats on the chocolate:

Corrine, I have to say - YOU ARE AWESOME!!! I have really learned so much from your posts about nutrition and vitamins. So - kudos to you for all your research and wonderful help and advice on so may subjects!!!

I got rid of the HMR shakes as they nutritionally were not within the recommended range my nut and I discussed. I'd have to drink two packets to get in the protien - which would overload me on carbs (and there were some hydro something or other ingredients which is a no, no as well). I used to mix them in my morning coffee ... from that aspect only I miss them. I've yet to find a coffee-creamer replacement that will with stand the heat of a lovely cup o' Joe. (Not that I'm drinking coffee yet ... but one day ... sigh).
