Thumbs down Wow....harsh!!!

Wow Peck who peed in your Cherrios this morning....that blew up quickly just by Tammy asking a simple question I have always loved the look of salt water tanks and my bf dives and we were thinking of maybe setting one up for things he brings back from the sea I had no idea what things cost and certainly don't even want to attempt to ask Peck a question now. Maybe you would have better luck selling your tank on Craigs list or somewhere that supposed "Family" doesn't get verbally chastized for asking questions. I don't know either of you this is just how it all came across to me just by reading the post sounds like a simple question was asked and the other person woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Good luck with your tank sell.

Hey Van!

A chiller is a piece of equipment that attaches to the tank to help regulate the temperature. Most tropical tanks need a heating system and don't often need to be cooled down. If you are in extreme temperatures or have over heating probs due nature a chiller can filter the water in and out and keep at at a constant temp which tends to stress the fish less.

We never needed one prior to moving to our current location but our house gets sooo over heated in the day the temp of the tank escalates to 85-86 degrees. Doesnt seem bad but its 4 degrees over our norm and can stress the fishes.

I dont think it will be a problem after October-ish but my husband loves those fish. A new chiller including plumbing (installation in to the tank) and componants can run between $375 and 800 new. I am certainly in the market for a good, well maintained working chiller.

I wasn't trying to make the seller fly off the handle. I know my husband wants this chiller badly but its taking a long time to save the $ as we have other expenses.

I hate to deny him stuff, he gives me so much. I saw an opportunity to ask and perhaps network the idea around. I was in no way trying to rip this person off. Heh.
