When I came to have my surgery I could walk and get around pretty good. I was just fat and somewhat slow. Overall though I could bend over and get on my hands and knees or pick things up off the floor. I cannot do those things any longer.
Since my surgery, I can barely walk, and gettting on my knees and bending over to pick up things is out of the question. I simply cannot do it.
Also, the medication I had while in my coma caused me to need a hip replacement, which I plan to get done this Oct or Nov.
The biggest thing is constant pain. I live in a mire of pain now, which I had none of before. This affects my concentration for work.
One of my biggest attributes was always my skill and professionalism in the area in which I work. It is so difficult for me to concentrate and lapse into that deep work mode which allows you to get a lot of work done and solve the most complex problems.
My sleep is fairly horrid now since I wake usually after only an hour or two of sleep. Sometimes this is disruptive to work in that I may be sleepy or lethargic at work.
I lost my most recent job. A fairly easy job which I had hoped I could keep. I am certain it was due to the complications from this surgery.
So for me this surgery has greatly injured my ability to support myself, because of the pain and lost mobility.
Yes I lost about 100 pounds plus, yet I am far less mobil than before.
I am 280 pounds or so now.
