Question Water Or Liquid Intake Question??

I'm wondering How much water can you drink at one time..it doesnt take me long at all to drink a bottled water and it doesnt rlly make me feel full but i drank a carnation breakfast drink too fast and thought i was gonna bust...is it cause the liquid has a thicker consistency???I'm just very worried about stretching my pouch im becoming obsessed

Hi Roxy....Im not sure whats right wrong or otherwise but I can drink water, crystal lite, iced tea etc pretty much to my hearts content. Protein shakes or anything of a heavier consistency is a whole other story.

Carnation Instant Breakfast is a thicker liquid, so that's probably the issue. But you cannot stretch your pouch with just liquids.

Isn't there too much sugar in the carnation breakfast drink? I am still in pre-op.... and would LOVE to have that for breakfast after surgry..... but thought we couldn't do "real" sugar??? Lynn

There is way too much sugar in regular Carnation Instant Breakfast, yes. 23 grams, I think. But you could try the no sugar added if you want. It does still have sugar in it, 8 grams. But most people won't dump on it because that's not that much, plus it's milk sugar, which does not bother most people. However, some people do become lactose intolerant after surgery, and it might bother them.

Try the EAS shakes with 0 grams sugar, 17-21 grams protein and 100 calories you cant go wrong and they taste so good. I get them at Sams 24 for $27 and it is about 15 oz also with all your vits in it and 0 carbs.
