Well, I'm about 8 months out now, so it's too late for Mike to do the liquid diet with me now! It would have been nice, though.

I have started by cutting out most of the things that he has had to.* We stopped diet sodas and carbonated stuff in April in anticipation of the surgery.* It has been a family affair.* The kids weren't too happy with no soda at first, but they have one now and then as a reward more so that a constant in their lives.* I've lost a few pounds myself as a result.* He's cleared for the surgery in a week and we are determined to do this together.* Thanks again for all of the advice.* I had thought of doing the liquid diet with him, and now I think I will do it.* I don't know how I'll do, but the least I can do is try so that I understand a little bit beter.

The big one for me is when family says "should you be eating that?" I look at them & want to kill them! The other side of that coin is "would you like some?" of course it is always something I can't have & then I give them this look

My DH read all my material & looked at the research I did. He has even checked this site. He has been extremely supportive over the surgery as well as family, friends, & coworkers.
