At first I was only going to tell family, but over time I have found myself telling certain people who are kinda close, friends I guess. Most of the time I kind of have to when I tell them I had a surgery and then they look at you like "and it was?". But I really don't care what they think to be honest. In a way I do but I just keep telling myself that this was a choice I made to make/keep myself healthy to live a longer life. And chances are, you will probably end up healthier than the people who looked at you all weird. I like how Mike put it. The people who really care for you will be supportive, even if deep down they didn't think you needed it, or just don't agree with it. And I've already found that certain people treat me differently already because I'm not the "token fat friend" who makes them look better in comparison. This is a new journey and many many many things will change, most of for the best.

Hi bat!
I'm worried about my friends treating me different because I am the fat one. The one that makes them feel better about themselves(even if they would never admit to that) and soon I'll be the thin one (God willing). Do you find your friends get jealous? Putting you down at all?

Well, to be honest, I dont have many people I hold close to me. I have the BF who is more like a husband, and my family. I do have friends I guess but I tend to keep them at a distance. But I can always tell how they feel about it by their reaction. So far, 80% have been happy and excited for me. But the other 20% not so much. Jealous can be a good thing, but still a pain in the ass. Putting you down, is still them being jealous. You just have to really ignore them. The ones you should lean to are the ones who are excited and happy for you. And dont worry either. Your doing something to better yourself. So what if they are jealous.
