Haven't tried the ice cream but the SF cool whip was good.

SF cool whip is love! I was told no ice cream...only SF frozen yogurt. That's just me though.

There is no such thing as SF ice cream, only No Sugar Added, and it should still be avoided. Instead, make your favorite creamy protein drink and freeze it!! That way you can have your "ice cream" and not worry about eating something that may not be a good choice. SF cool-whip is fine, and I have used it in recipies, just be aware of calorie content. Just because it's sugar free doesn't mean it Fat or Calorie Free. I have been drinking smoothies that I make at home with added protein for the "milk shake" effect. That might just be the "thing" for you too.

just remember when you freeze protein powder you won't be getting full value of it as freezing/thawing it breaks down the nutrients in it...it is stil a better alternative than the crap in the no sugar added ice cream, and the s/f cool whip is good, but due to calories as mentioned...only a tablespoon or two at most is the suggested serving

i freeze the milk and then when blending add the protein powder as to get the full benefit, that has worked for me

s/f, fat free frozen yogurt is available here and i enjoy it every so often, it is made with splenda, so again still getting artificial sweetners which should be used in moderation as well

yup isnt life a great balance!

Any more than one or two spoonfuls of ice cream makes me deathly ill so I have been afraid to try even the SF/FF variety. Instead I will occasionally buy chocolate covered frozen bananas from Trader Joe's. They have 160 calories, are pretty low in fat, don't cause me to dump and they are a good frozen treat substitute, at least for me. If you have just had the surgery, I would hold off before trying, they are kind of high in sugar because of the natural sugar in the banana and of course the chocolate.

You can also slice and then freeze a banana and drizzle chocolate sauce or sf chocolate sauce over it (i don't believe in sf candy or chocolate sauce, not only does it taste disgusting but I don't want all those artificial substances in my body)

FYI: The fat free cool whip has less calories than the sugar free cool whip, and only 1 little gram of sugar. It's REALLY good! I put it on puddin'!
