Default Liquid Diet

Don't feel bad honey, I have to do 2 full weeks of a liquid diet!!! And during those 2 weeks I already had a weekend trip scheduled with my children and many kids and teens in my church... (and you know there will be lotsa fast food snd snacks happening!)
But I will do it with a smile on my face because I am working toward a goal, and NOTHING will keep me away from it!

Just like "soon" said, each niut is different in what they require. From everything I have read and learned on the surgery, it's the best way to go!
Good luck! We're here to support you both!

We went shopping yesterday to get all of our vitamins and proteins that were recommended to us. We also stocked up on sugar-free popcicles, a variety of broths and lots of sugar free jello.

I know she just has a lot on her mind but she's having problems sleeping now. I think that things could get better today as you start to remove yourself from it, but I'm sure this week will have it's ups and downs.

I'm trying to do everything I can for her, but this is going to be difficult. I really think she's having a hard time understanding why some people have such shorter fasting periods. It's hard when her surgery buddy is able to just about eat right up to her actual surgery day.
I so feel her pain on this.. I mean I see too where alot of people that even go to my same clinic dont have to do 10 to 14 days. And its like dang why do I? But I then have to think it will be better for me int he long run... and I have to suck it up.... NOW .. talk to me about the 28th and bet I will be ready to eat a raw chicken...LOL... You are such a sweet guy for being so supportive.... hang in there just a few more days.. and she will be headed towards healthy..

There are some people who do liquids before, so she isn't completely alone! My recommendation would be that you get some good soups. For me, broth was nasty and far too salty. I went to a soup shop and strained soups. I drank the liquid, and my dogs ate the pieces. They were very happy during my two week post-op liquid stage! In this case, you can have the rest of the soup.

She can also probably have sugar free popsicles. They aren't nearly as bad as the broth, but they are hard to come by. My Super Wal-Mart had one brand that came in sugar free.(Those are EXCELLENT to have after surgery.) Since this is pre-op, she can probably have the regular, but she might want to go ahead and get in the habit of cutting down on carbs.
