Default No loss lately

Hello all. I am a new member and am glad to meet you. I need to talk with others that have actually experienced WLS. Everyone has their opinions, whether you want it or not, but I want to know some things from other bandsters. I had lapband on 2/8/08 and have lost a total of 20lbs. Most of this was from the liquid pre op diet. I don't understand why I havent lost any in a few weeks. I am barely eating anything. Scared this isnt working. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Are you exercising? How much are you eating and what are you eating? I think we need a little more information to help you out.

I had gastric bypass not the lap band, but is it possible that maybe your band is not tight enough? I know this was one of the things the surgeon mentioned in the seminar I went to. Good luck.

I know 3 people that have had the lapband. All were very similiar in that it was awhile before the weight came off. I suspect once your doctor gets the fills just right for you, as long as you are also following the program, the weight will start to fall off.

OK this is what I have been eating.

In the morning I had refried beans with a little cheese on top (this seems to go down easy).

For lunch Tuna salad (NOT plain tuna/ I cannot do that) with a few cheese crackers.

For Dinner some soup Tortilla with some beans maybe.

This is an example of my last week and half. I havent ate much the last two day because of problems with my bowels. I have drank 2 bottles of mag. citrate per docs orders. Not my ideal meal but had to have some relief.

any suggestions on food or recipes would be wonderful. I would like to maximize my weight loss as much as I can to maintain a healthy loss.

Thanks
Me

Magnesium citrate is the devil. I had to drink two bottles of it two days before my surgery. I have never been so sick in my life.

It can take a while for the band to get into the "sweet spot". That means just the right fill to help you eat what you need without being to tight so you dont get sick. The AVERAGE takes 3-5 fills. 20lbs in a few weeks is awesome! You are doing great!

In the beginning I would eat

Kashi go lean cereal 1/2 cup some milk or a protein shake. But remember liquids dont stay in the small tummy long for us so you may get a hungery faster...

Lunch was tuna, mayo and I had it on either crackers, or on a cucumber for crunch. Watch serving sizes on the crackers.

Dinner was meat of some sort, 3-4oz, then a veggie or fruit, and then if you have room a little bit of carbs. I never had room for the carbs...but thats just me. now that I have put a few more back into my diet the weight is slower, but still coming off...

Try to eat about 1200 cals a day, and make sure to get your protein!!!
