I tried to watch it, but couldn't get through the whole thing.

It's beautiful, and more people need to see this (like congress).

That IS beautiful....I watched all of it, but ended up in tears halfway through. Thanks for posting the link. I plan on sending this to a few friends today.

Carlie, thank you for sharing this. It too brought me to tears but it also helped me to remember to say "thank you. I'm proud of you."

Default very nice

I really enjoyed that piece and it really tugs at the old heart-strings especially since I have a Sgt. son in the Marine Corp Reserves that did one 7 month tour. He's an electrician with the 4th Combat Engineering Battallion that was deployed with Charley Company as support. He even talks about doing another tour but Mommy says NO WAY.
Now I don't want to start any kind of disharmony on such a beautiful forum with so many people that have shown me nothing short of true, genuine and sincere love and concern. But I must ask a question, and that is; How would you feel if when you looked at that video and every face that they used to represent all of the family, relatives and friends of us americans was a Black face???
Hummmmmmmmm

I don't find disharmony in your comments, they make me think.
Please thank your son for his service. I live in a Marine town, and like their camouflage uniforms, the men who serve our country are many colors, working together. I agree, the piece would have been even more poignant had it shown the diversity of our troops and the people who love them and are waiting for them. The video was touching, but it was put together by one person, and that story is told from that ONE person's perspective.

I too am not trying to bring any disharmony here... this is my safe place. But I guess the answer for me is, it wouldn't matter. I was in the Air Force for four years, my husband was in for 22 years. The military is the closest to being colorblind of any organization in the United States. I didn't look at the colors of the faces in the video, just their expressions...

Thank you sharing this video, it is easy to hustle and bustle through our days, complaining about co-workers and family duties, but that makes you realize our feloow country men and women are risking life and limb at their job.
Makes the problems of our day seem petty!!
Thank you!!

BTW
How would you feel if when you looked at that video and every face that they used to represent all of the family, relatives and friends of us americans was a Black face???

I would feel the same of course, are we not all created equal?? Don't we all count? I was raised color blind and I pray for those who are not!!
