Drumming Away The Blues

Posted 03-22-2009 at 11:59 AM by Tmac
Today is Sunday. Sunday has always been the hardest emotional day of the week for me. I'm sure it's because the looming of work/travel on Monday.

What makes me nuts is when I waste a Sunday. If I don't get going right away, or miss church or whatever, it always bites me in the butt emotionally.

I just had a nice moment today. I was starting to zone on the couch when my daughter aske me to play with her. I was really tired and about to tell her to go find something else to do. Then she asked me if I would play the drums while she sings. She knows that drumming always gets a "yes" from dad.

So we headed to the basement and I hooked up a microphone for her and then hooked my iPOd up to my electronic set. We put on some of her favorite Hannah Montana tunes (my daughter is 4) and rocked out for a while.

I went from morose to delighted in about 10 minutes.

One of the things I'm hoping will come to me easier as I lose weight is the motivation to execize. I ALWAYS feel better and have more energy when I exercize, but sometimes I need a "little helper" to get me off that couch. Today is was my daughter. Tomorrow, I hope it's my own determination and enhansed will power brought to be via weight loss success.
