10 weeks and 2 days after my surgery date...

I suppose it is time that I update this blog as it has been two and a half months since my original surgery date. I work full time and am in school full time so I don't have a ton of free time. Plus, with the tiny amount of food I eat every day I am exhausted by the time I get home from work!

The weird burping noises that I had been hearing before started happening again, only this time more often and much louder. It was not painful at first, just really weird and kind of annoying. I have not updated this in awhile due to laziness and a desire to not think of what I had been through following my surgery. However, I know that I will regret that in a year when I want to look back at what this time in my journey was like for me, so here goes…

After the devastating news that my surgery date was being pushed back to October 30th from October 9th, the dietician at my clinic sent me an e-mail with a calorie restricted diet. The diet is basically protein drinks and low carb Lean Cuisines or Smart Ones. I began this diet on Saturday, September 29th the day after I found out that my begging and pleading letter was not enough to convince my surgeon to let me keep my October 9th date.

There was another woman in my pre-op education...

A not so happy hiccup...

Well... today was my pre-op education class. The day started out with the requisite weigh in. Over the last two weeks, I have been throwing a little bit of a "food funeral" for myself to say goodbye to my old friend, junk food. Well turns out my idea of saying goodbye to the crap that got me where I am in the first place was not a very good idea. I have gained 14 pounds since my meeting with the surgeon a month ago. This prompted him to postpone my surgery.
