My thanks to Dr. Dillemans

Dear Marc and Dr. Dillemans,
I am now 2 weeks post op.
I have never felt so well.
The experience was nowhere near as scary as I thought it would be although I am sure I came close to a cardiac arrest whilst waiting to go into theatre! The pain was a bit uncomfortable coming round and so was coming out of the anaesthetic (gross) but after that it was plain sailing and I have to say, since coming home, I have simply gone from strength to strength.
I have not injected insulin since the day I went into hospital.
My stomach feels so normal I was originally concerned that Dr. D. had peered inside me and said "Oooh I'm not putting my hands in there!!" and closed me up again. If it wasn't for the fact that my pouch reacts violently to anything with sugar in it (as I found to my cost when trying WW L.F. Mousse!! ) I wouldn't know I'd had any surgery.
I want to mention here that although you chaps do this for a living and it’s probably all in a day's work to you, the benefits to your patients are huge and overwhelmingly beneficial. I have been away from Brugge for a week and already I feel a new lease of life. My head is clearer, my joint pains are lessened, I can reach parts of me even Heineken couldn't!! I feel tremendously well and am simply looking forward to the rest of my life ( which will probably be a lot longer now courtesy of Dr. Dillemans).
I felt 100% confident in Dr. D's abilities and his lovely personable treatment and kindness will never be forgotten. He was down to earth, and friendly, approachable & understanding. He had a twinkle in his eye every time I met him, his attention was constant, he listened to my fears (though he must have heard the same a thousand times before) AND he talked to me like an equal.
In fact everyone I came into contact with at the hospital was kind and helpful and professional. The nursing was wonderful and I was impressed at how wonderfully efficient (AND CLEAN) everything seemed. Everyone seemed happy in their work and I was made most comfortable.
You have made my life worthwhile again and changed my future for ever. I cannot thank you enough.
