Well I have had a rough day...today I received the call that I have skin cancer- being that I am 32 with three kids its kind of freaked me out a bit. Im gonna be positive though- the doctors are going to remove it and we will discuss what my next course of action will be- they think we caught it early enough.
I am posting this here as I think and hope someone reads this... as heavy people we have all avoided taking off clothes and have kept covered up for years (at least for me) so please...

Hi I'm new to this site & not very computer savay so who knows if this will post or not. I just got insurance approval for surgery and am sooooo excited and very scared! Would love to hear about positive immediate post op experiences. I have so many family members that don't want me to do this, they feel I'll ruin my life. I need positive feed back from all of you who've had positive results and long term results. Tired of defending myself!!

I was wondering if anyone's Doctor has told them that they needed a Medical Alert Braclet, if so what are we susposed to have written on it. Gastric Bypass ???. Please let me know if anyone has come across this question.

Well had my surgery 21/2 months ago and my life has changed forever this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Th first month was rough, but I made it through. Now I am lighter, lean and more fit than I was on my wedding day 9 years ago. Tried on my wedding dress the other night and it is a tent. Whoo hoo so excited for me. When I pass a mirror I do a double take. Just had my hair cut and colored a completely new color BLOND and clean out all my old fat clothes. Got rid of over 70 pieces...

I can't believe that I'm celebrating my 5 month anniversary already! I'm down 52 lbs so far but the most important thing that's happened in the last 5 months is that I've really truly learned that losing weight is a process. For me, it's 60% mental & 40% physical. I have learned to become mentally fit in order to get a jump start on my physical activities.
It took about 2 months post-op to prepare myself mentally to go on this journey in the healthy way. It wasn't easy in the beginning....
